Rare Canadian Jazz !    This one very rarely comes up for auction. 

Canada's best-kept Jazz secret, Lee Gagnon composed for, and recorded with several local and international greats..........yet,  he released only 5 "solo" albums throughout his career.     

"Vive La Canadienne" is his genuinely scarce last solo release.....totally unknown because of it's rarity, yet as strong as, and in the style of his previous release, "Jeremie".        Ten popular Quebec folksongs decked out in in a modern "funky" style making the songs almost unrecognizable.    This is awesome Jazz-Rock reminiscent of  of France's Alain Goraguer and his "Planete Sauvage" from 1973.

"White" Funk, filled with Wah-Wah pedal guitar, horns, and pulsing rythmn......WOW ! !     Probably Lee Gagnon's least known LP, and without a doubt, the toughest to find.

With track titles like "Skin Dance" and "Rybo-Nucleic Rhumba",   you know you're in for a real treat ! !

Record looks almost un-played, shiny, glossy, with no obvious marks, except perhaps a few very light  superficial paper scuffs/hairlines.

VG++ / EX-

Excellent record…..Glossy surface, minimal hairlines,   perhaps some superficial scuff marks, possibly some light surface noises.

VG+  

May have more minor hairline marks or surface scuffs that will not affect play (no skips...but possibly some minor crackling on playback).

VG    

Record may have several light scratches, noticeable marks, and surface noise may be more apparent. …It will still play through without skipping and is still enjoyable.

VG-   

Looks rough, many scratches, some deep enough to be fell with a fingernail, surface noise is evident . …An OK record, but not for everyone. (* will not normally be auctioned, unless a desirable or rare item)

   Cover:

EX / NM    

Only very minor shelf wear with perhaps a minor flaw)….an overall excellent collectible cover (a cover that was very well stored)

VG++ / EX-

May have some minor front or back cover wear, minor seam and spine defects (well cared for, but it does show minimal signs of use (light ring, edge or seam wear).

VG+  

Noticeable blemishes that are not severe…corner, spine & seam wear…..noticeable ring wear.  May have a small seam or spine split, or sticker residue/damage  May have some small taped section(s).

Shows distinct wear from handling & storage, noticeable marks and/or discoloration ….. may have seam splits, spine tears or sticker tears, and/or taped section(s)
