In my opinion VERY COOL is the masterpiece by LEE KONITZ, and possibly his apogee as a "cool jazz" musician. In this Italian late '50s pressing by JOLLY label, the crystal sound is enhanced by the top quality of heavy vinyl.

Jacket : EX

Soft, matt laminated, light cardboard jacket in EX condition. Seams and spine intact, with NO split or wear.

The front cover is clean, with NO creases, corners with minimal wear on the edges.

A very light ring wear is visible on both sides, with absolutely NO discoloration at all. On the back the flipbacks are in excellent condition with just a small crease on the lower seam and a few micro creases along the spine.

Very hard to find such a delicate and soft cover in EX condition.

Vinyl : EX+

Under a strong lamp the lustre vinyl surface looks very carefully played, with NO rubs at all visible. Great sound, plays crystal and clear.

Catalogue/Label :

LP VERVE MGV 8209, original Italian mono pressing by JOLLY in the late '50s on heavy vinyl.

Original labels in excellent condition with just a few little marks around the spindle hole. Please look at my label scans.

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light.

NM (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG- Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues.

G Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
