LEE MORGAN
the Sidewinder LP
Rudy VAN GELDER recorded and mastered:
VAN GELDER is machine-stamped in the dead-wax,
as is the "ear" symbol
Blue Note 4157 is on the jacket,
BLP 4157 on the label
43 West 61st St., New York 23 is printed on the jacket,
and NEW YORK USA on the label;
the Vinyl is VISUALLY Graded:
both sides look vg to VG+
nice THICK HEAVY PRESSING
We did spot-check the sound:
there's some light, intermittent,
unobtrusive random pops and non-repeating ticks,
that are audible, for example,
on the early "pause" on the title track.
By the second track, things are pretty quiet,
and the sound is great,
with deep bass and crisp highs.
Side 2 also has minor similar wear
audible on the intro and quiet parts,
but by the trumpet "solo" in the middle of
"Boy, What A Night", there's no obvious noise.
The jacket is vg with light yellowing,
light shelf-wear on both sides, corner wear,
and upper-right corner splitting, see photo.
