Description
Rare 1964 Blue note Records, original stereo pressing of this Lee Morgan masterpiece. Classic Blue Note labels with New York address, Plastylite "ear" symbol and "Van Gelder" stamped in the record runouts. Gorgeous sound on the original thick 60s vinyl, no other version comes close.
VPI cleaned, record visually VG with some visible scuffs and hairline scratches, but plays mostly VG+. There is one feelable scratch about 1 minute or so into "The Sidewinder" that causes a few light ticks (not all that noticeable unless you're paying close attention), the rest plays very clean throughout.
The thick cover is on the upper end of VG as well. There is unfortunately a name written on the front cover, but it is quite faded (see photo #5). The back cover text is also upside-down, but this is obviously an anomaly from the printing job way back in '64. Overall, looks really good for its age, relatively light ageing and shelf wear. Includes original "25 Years of Blue Note"inner sleeve.
