These early BLUE NOTE LP's are rare and fabulous. This is the original, FLAT EDGE, DEEP GROOVE  47 West 63rd,  New York 23 copy. Both sides of the THICK VINYL have in the runoff vinyl THE EAR and the designation RVG for Rudy Van Gelder. 

MATRIX:

BN-LP-1557-A-1. is etched into the runoff of Side 1.

BN-LP-1557-B-1. is etched into the runoff of Side 2.

VINYL:

VG+ The Vinyl is Very Clean with a few hairlines and some minor rub areas. The record was play graded.  Some very minor background noise is intermittently audible, but not distracting; it does not overpower the music at all.  The music is beautiful.  This is a gorgeous, vintage Blue Note record.

LABELS:

The labels are bright and flawless -- striking.

FRONT COVER:

Front cover colors are brilliant, vibrant. There is no writing on the jacket. The top left corner is sharp and clean with just a minute touch on the very tip. The bottom left corner shows very minor rounding. The top right corner shows some bare cardboard on the tip.  The bottom right corner tip has a 1/4x1/2 inch spot of laminate peel. 

BACK COVER:

The back cover, however, shows areas of browning along the edges (Please see photos).  The upper right corner shows some bare cardboard.

SEAMS:

The top seam has a five inch split on the right side.  In an effort to maintain the integrity of this first pressing jacket, I did not have the split professionally repaired.  The side and bottom seams, as well as the rest of the top seam, are very clean.

     This LP will be packaged carefully and professionally in a high quality mailer which will be placed into a large, sturdy box. 

The vinyl has been removed from the sleeve and placed into a Mofi Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Original Master Sleeve.  These Archival Quality, Non Scratching, Anti Static sleeves are the highest quality inner sleeves available. 

Cardboard stabilizers will be used, and bubble wrap will safely and securely float the album.  The packaged album will then be place inside a large box.  Air pillows will float the record mailer and insure the integrity of the album.
