Description
The Self-Titled "LEGEND" LP released in the U.S. on BELL RECORDS (6027) in 1969 is a PROMO copy with the Promo Info on the light blue (instead of white) Promotional Bell labels (Scan 3). There is a Promo/DJ sticker on the upper right front cover as seen in Scan 1. Scan 2 shows the back cover album info, songtitles, etc. but may be hard to read as it is (undoctored). The majority of the wear is on the back black cover as seen. There are no cut-out marks. This is Legend leader and former member of the Paramounts Mickey Jupp's 1st LP with 2 more Legend LPs following before a compilation LP when he signed to Stiff (which includes a couple of these songs) for Juppanese, and a subsequent series of albums under his own name. This is a great period piece of CSN-type harmonies and Elton styled songs, along with harder roots rock which would be a basis for his later Pub Rock period.
The LP is in VERY GOOD PLUS condition and has been played rarely (half dozen times?) judging by the spindle marks on the labels, with a small number of light visible scratches or marks with only one (which can be felt) causing noise at the beginning of Side 1, Song 1 which has about a half dozen medium ticks, with just a couple more in the next minute, before it settles down to a solid VG+ play with occasional ticks or quick surface noise. Side 2 which features some of the quieter songs including "Heather On The Hill" plays a solid NM with no undue surface noise other than occasional light tick and appears to have been played less.
The Cover is in VERY GOOD PLUS condition, with the seams mostly intact except for a 3" split medium bottom and showing occasional other rough spots (top title seam), the corners generally sharp but showing light wear with a wrinkle near the upper left, and the front and back showing the same light wear with ringwear more pronounced on the black back than the front.
