So, up for auction is a very rare ORIGINAL GREEK vinyl pressing - NOT the Dark Entries 2015 reissue in the United States and NOT the Exclusive Record Store Day 2019 reissue in Greece by MLK - of Lena Platonos' Gallop [?????? in Greek Language] album that was released in 1985 by the independent Greek record label Lyra with Cat No 3395 and Matrix Nos LY 3395 A MT 410 L 142 [A side] and LY 3395 B 2 MT 410 L 142 [B side, both machine - stamped]!

Lena Platonos is a Greek musician, pianist and music composer. One of the pioneers of Greek electronic music, she remains active today. Born in Heraklion, Crete and grew up in Athens she began learning how to play the piano at the age of two and became a professional pianist before turning eighteen. Soon afterwards, she received a scholarship to study in the Berlin and Vienna Academies, where she was exposed to jazz, rock and Middle Eastern music. She returned to Greece in the late 70’s, began working with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation and released 3 collaborative albums between ’81 - ‘83 but it was her “triptych” of solo albums, Sun Masks [‘84), Gallop [‘85] and Lepidoptera [‘86] that would lead many to call her the Greek Laurie Anderson or Mother of Greek electronica…

?????? [Gallop] was Lena Platonos' second record that she solely composed, produced and sang. The record was released in 1985 and paved the way for Greek electronica of the 1990's. Gallop was composed in the wake of a painful separation, and took several months to complete. Lena says, “It’s a study in the mythology of urban population of the contemporary metropolis and also a gaze into the future life of it.” The album is made exclusively using analog synthesizers and heavily features the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine. Lena Platonos narrates each song, reciting her own surreal Greek poetry with unique skill. Lyrics deal with heartbreak, dreams, desires, and astutely predict the way that computers and technology would infiltrate our society in the years to come. Notice: A track from Gallop titled ?? ?????? "?'?????" [And we listen to “I Love You” in Greek Language] is heard on the television series adaptation of the 2000 film High Fidelity - that was based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Nick Hornby - and premiered on Hulu last February when Simon, the one out of two employees at Championship Vinyl record store, puts the needle on the opening track of a supposed to be “original” copy of Gallop -which it is NOT as anyone can realize from the black back cover - the original one is mostly white with lyrics and photos - the plain black label - as the original one is silver with black lettering - and the fact too that the track is originally the third one on the A side -  so, to … put the record straight, a Dark Entries reissue cover and a, who knows which, record were used for the instance!

Deleted upon release, unavailable for 35 years and RARELY SEEN on eBay in ANY condition, this must have item for every devoted fan of electronica / synth pop / experimental music does not get offered up too often. So, do not miss …

Grading:I use the GOLDMINE standards for grading STRICTLY & CONSERVATIVELY  the condition of the items listed. The grading is mostly visual, though I d? “spot check” each of the songs.
