Here's a great FIRST PRESS LP by LEON RUSSELL and MARC BENNO, LOOK INSIDE THE ASYLUM CHOIR from 1968, this US copy pressed on on SMASH RECORDS in 1968. This is the first LP from Leon, and a great one. The COVER is in NEAR MINT condition. A great cover that shows little abuse. There is a cover indent front cover by the spine that runs the entire height of the cover. The cover must have been in a collection that was tight and pushed the front cover in, but left the spine as it should be. That could have happened due to the nature of the unpick cover. It does not detract from this beautiful example of this scarce LP. If The VINYL and LABELS are perfect. A really pristine and great copy. Looks unplayed, except I do play everything I post on my reference system to describe the LP.
This cover was censored because the toilet paper was considered in bad taste, and worse people only saw the words LOOK INSIDE. So, these covers were quickly replaced. The LP is super cool with a lot of tracks sped up, and engineering feats at the time to create some cool trips 1968ish sounds. While the classic Leon sound is still in the mix. One of Leon's greatest LPs showcasing his talents on the keys as well as in the studio. An amazing copy of a scarce LP.
