Description
Here's a very rare Capitol studio acetate containing part of the sessions for Leon Russell and the Shelter People. The label is marked "Tulsa Tapes" (we do not know why) and all four of the tracks are Dylan covers, only one of which (“A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall”) made it onto the original LP. The other three--“It’s All Over Now Baby Blue,” “She Belongs to Me” and “Love Minus Zero/No Limit”--were released a decade later on the 1989 CD reissue of the LP. This disc also contains bits of studio sounds between tracks and a couple of false starts. As to why it’s the acetate has Capitol labels, the fact that it handled Shelter’s distribution between 1970 and 1974 is a clue. The disc is in strong VG condition. Visually it’s closer to VG+, though there is a bit of crackle and pop audible throughout.
