Over the next few months i will be selling on here a superb selection of rare Soul, Jazz, Funk and Latin LP's, acquired from a serious enthusiast who is trimming his collection down! Info: Original US pressing LP with lightly grooved labels (this is not a reissue or replica pressing)!
Comes in original gatefold card picture sleeve with paste-on inside, and has original plain paper inner sleeve.
Line-up includes Pee Wee Ellis, Neal Creque, Pretty Purdie, John Blair, Larry Coryell, Airto Moreira, Stanley Clarke and others.
Produced by Bob Thiele.

Blues and the Soulful Truth is a tour through the depth and dimension of Thomas' mind-blowing abilities as a singer in a wide range of African American musical traditions, proving at the time, and now again, that he was far more than a free jazz singer. Indeed, the artist not only was a stylist of originality, but a composer, arranger, ethnomusicologist, and a singer of startling beauty and power -- no matter the song. This album is a singular achievement, even among the fine recordings in Thomas' own catalogue, and should be considered first by those curious enough to look into his work - you won't be disappointed no matter what you find, but this one will take you places you never anticipated going!

Record is a super clean copy and has hardly been touched! There is one absolutely tiny bubble in the vinyl affecting the second track on both sides, but this has no noticeable effect on play, and otherwise the vinyl is in near mint condition and plays through very nicely.
Labels are perfectly clean with no spindle marks on side 1, and just one or two extremely faint spindle marks on side 2.
Sleeve in excellent condition with just minor bumps to the right hand corners. No writing, sticker marks or spine splits.
Inner sleeve has a small split in one of the side edges but otherwise looks fine.
