Les McCann & Eddie Harris - Swiss Movement
Insanely-Rare MONO White Label Promo!
This mono mix was created for and distributed exclusively to AM radio stations - it was never available for purchase by the general public, and remains unreleased on any digital format!
Furthermore, this features a censored version of "Compared to What" which has both utterances of the word "goddamn" beeped out. This was, after all, supposed to be played on the radio!
This is an authentic, original 1969 US pressing - not a repressing, reissue, or counterfeit!
Disc Grade: F Yes, it is unfortunately only in "Fair" condition. Despite looking like a VG record, a test-play did reveal a couple of skips. I have provided full rips of both sides - have a listen and decide for yourself if this is the copy for you!
Jacket Grade: G+ The jacket is in better shape, although it does have its faults. There is a split centered on the top seam, and another split on the bottom seam which the previous owner taped. There is only minor ringwear on either side. The promo sticker is still fully intact on the front.
It does bear mentioning that this jacket is not unique to this mono mix, but is rather just a regular stereo jacket with a promo sticker attached. It was the standard practice of Atlantic Records (and the entire music industry, for that matter) not to create unique jackets for promo copies of LPs, but rather to package them in standard stock jackets bearing stickers or stamps which differentiated them as promos.
This LP will be packaged in a genuine cardboard LP mailer, with the disc placed in a new inner sleeve outside of the jacket.
