LES SAUTERELLES View To Heaven (Decca 363636) Krokodil RARE Swiss 1st Pressing MINT-

RARE Swiss first pressing of Les Sauterelles` second album, "View To Heaven" on Decca/Blick Records (c. June 1968). Includes the rare poster in perfect, unhandled condition.

"The Saturelles second lp issued in '68 finds them taking in the pop-psychedelia influences of that period. This is one of those albums that is mostly forgettable but has several outstanding tracks that still makes this record a must have. 'Heavenly Club' as a single went to number 1 in Switzerland for several weeks (knocked off the top spot by the Beatles 'Hey Jude'). That track along with 'Montgolfier' are superbly orchestrated pop-psych efforts. Two other tracks 'Hello One Kiss Goodbye' and 'Dream Machine' are heavier numbers - both feature blistering psych guitar work and are similar to The Pretty Things or even The Creation. The remainder of the album is rather forgettable, even embarassing but those four aformentioned tracks rank as the band's best works." - Amazon customer review by "Owsley" (March 2010).

GRADING:

MINT- COVER in near-perfect condition. Please see the photos for details.

- Original fully laminated gatefold sleeve.

- Light wear to the left-hand corners, otherwise pretty much perfect!

- Includes the RARE poster in perfect, unhandled condition and still stapled inside the gatefold inner.

- Also includes original inner sleeve in undamaged EX+ condition.


MINT(-) RECORD that looks unplayed. A near-impossible find in this condition!
- Perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Original first-pressing red Decca labels with a single, near-invisible spindle line on each side.
- Other than that, no hairlines, scuffs or any other visible signs of previous play at all!

- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "BLICK- A  363636 A2  Made in Switzerland" and "BLICK- B  363636 B2  Made in Switzerland".

- The record is certified to be a Swiss first pressing of "View To Heaven", released circa in June 1968.
