Artist: Level 42
Format: 12” album 1983 ‘Standing in the Light’ with full band signatures on the rear of the sleeve!
Rarity: this is a signed record cover that includes the full line up of the band from the ‘classic period’ of 1979 - 1987, with the following signatures identified:
Band members
· Mark King: vocals, scat, bass guitar, rototoms
· Rowland "Boon" Gould: guitars, saxophone
· Phil Gould: drums, percussion, marimba, rototoms, backing vocals.
· Mike Lindup: vocals, acoustic piano, electric piano, Memorymoog, Prophet-5, vocode
(Plus, an unidentified one other signature).
Condition: the grading relates specifically to the outer signed card sleeve, and the poly-lined inner sleeve and 12” vinyl record is not graded, due to the value being within the ‘signed’ outer sleeve. This is a thin card sleeve with moderate rubbing, minor to moderate creasing, and moderate edge wear and grubbiness to the off-white card. Cover overall graded as good plus (+) condition and on this basis is well handled. Autographs are in a mixture of gel-type pens and biro-style pens on the rear of the cover. It should be noted that all have dedicated their signatures to ‘Robert’ or ‘Rob’. Signatures graded at a minimum 9/10 and look superb.
Provenance: purchased by me direct from ‘Rob’ who worked with the band in the early eighties. `
