Peter Handford was known for his recordings of steam locomotives in the 1950s and 1960s, during the last days of steam railways in Britain.
These were issued on the Transacord label between 1955 and 1961, the 7" format are particularly hard to find.
This is one of the few 7"  issued by Transacord (before they became Decca ARGO ).
The location is the infamous Lickey incline near Birmingham with it's 1 in 37   gradient   over 2 miles.
Some of the locos featured   are Fowler 4Fs & 3F 'Jinty's',   Black Vs,   Jubilees, Big Bertha (the LMS Decapod),   and yet more Jubilees!
