1941 World War II release from the LUTZ TEMPLEN orchestra with MIMI THOMA vocals on "LIEBER SOLDAT" and and "LIED ENES JUNGEN WACHTPOSTENS" on 10" 78 rpm POLYDOR 47575 in EXCELLENT EE+ condition with the original tax stamp -- it is also contained in the original generic sleeve from WWII -- please see photos --
Ludwig "Lutz" Templin (June 18, 1901 - March 7, 1973) was a German saxophonist, bandleader and arranger. Originally from Düsseldorf, Templin was initially a violinist in dance orchestras and led his own orchestra, which played in the Berlin region in the late 1930s. From 1940, Templin became known as the leader of the propaganda swing band "Charlie and His Orchestra", which re-enacted American jazz standards in versions arranged by Templin during world war II on behalf of the Ministry of Propaganda. As bandleader, Templin was officially allowed to listen to the otherwise forbidden enemy transmitters in order to be able to use the swing music in his versions and arrange it as jazzy as possible. At that time, Templin's arrangements were played by numerous German and European musicians, who were among the elite of jazz and entertainment music outside the USA at that time.
