“Back in New Zealand we heard much about Rhodesia and its hospitality. During our tour of that beautiful country, we experienced the warmth and friendliness of all its peoples. Later we were to meet a Rhodesian songwriter and his words and music. Our enthusiasm must have shown because we were immediately approached to record twelve of those songs. The reason for our enthusiasm was that the songs depicted life in Rhodesia as we saw it, together with the fact that each one was based on true experiences. This made it a new adventure to rehearse, relive and record this album. We hope we can visit Rhodesia many more times, so as we can get around to meeting everybody, and sing these songs to the people personally.” – The Greenstones (taken from the liner notes)
