ULTRA RARE 7'' BY OBSCURE AUSSIE BAND FROM 1983 : LIFE STUDIES.
OBVIOUSLY INFLUENCED BY THE POSTCARD SOUND OF THE PALE FOUNTAINS AND AZTEC CAMERA, CHERRY RED, W/ A DASH OF EARLY GO BETWEENS MAYBE?
VINYL IS A VG, SLIGHT PAPER MARKS DO NOT AFFECT PLAY. A FEW AREAS OF SURFACE NOISE HERE AND THERE, NOTHING MAJOR. NICE CRIPSY TREBLY VINYL QUALITY. SOME AGEWEAR ON COVER ALSO.

Sounds like this band belonged right alongside the Cherry Red / El / Postcard / Creation / etc. stable of indie guitar pop postpunk pre-c86 bands, i.e. Pale Fountains/ Aztec Camera/ Fantastic Something / Go Betweens etcetc. Kinda like that.
Life Studies (Australia)
The Life Studies were formed in 1982 in Gloucester by Graham Nicholson, Phillip Thomas, Martyn Bennett and Derek Crabtree. This is their only single release, and was featured by John Peel on several occasions on his radio show.
The band performed several extremely successful gigs in and around Gloucestershire, before dis-banding.
Nicholsonand Thomas went on to form 'The Trout Faced Few' whilst they were considered one of the most influential and popular in Gloucestershire, they did not release any records.

My vinyl grading system :
MINT = A sealed record , or a test pressing or import that was obviously never played though still unsealed.
NEARMINT - A record that may have been played once, shiny and pristine.
EXCELLENT - A record that has the slightest bit of surface noise in areas. Plays mostly excellent without pops or skips. Maybe has some slight superficial paper marks that are only cosmetic and do not affect play whatsoever.
VG+ - A record that has a few scratches between songs, maybe a slight bit of surface noise but still WITHOUT SKIPS OR POPS.
VG - A record that has a bit more surface noise, a few tiny scratches during the songs.
GOOD - A record that has some more surface noise in areas, also has one actual SKIP or POP that will be obviously audible. I don't bother listing records that have more than one skip, or too many scratches or pops. I've been selling records for nearly 30 years. 10 years on Ebay, so my feedback should give you some confidence.
