Description
LIFT – Caverns Of Your Brain. PQR Disques Plusquereel PQR 037. French release. FACTORY SEALED NEW COLOR VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Original album recorded in 1974. This remastered edition issued in 2024 in a limited numbered run of 200 copies pressed on red with orange & white splatter color vinyl (#122 of 200). The copy number appears on the hype sticker, so hang on to it as I don’t believe there is a number inside the jacket. Includes a 2-page informative insert along with a download card for four bonus tracks. This is the first official vinyl release. NOTE: There are three different color vinyl pressings of this title totaling 500 copies: 100 black, 200 gold, and 200 splatter, each color is numbered of its respective press run. This is the only color I’ve had.

DESCRIPTION, as per the label: We continue our deep-dive into US Prog Classics with LIFT’s one-time wonder Caverns Of Your Brain. Previously released on vinyl only as a bootleg, this 1977 4-track sonic labyrinth is packed with the quintessential ingredients of an instant classic. A never-come-down, fast-paced haven of complexity, with abundant mellotron/moog doses and inventive rhythmic shifts that evoke a eureka moment on every corner. This is the first official vinyl edition, featuring new band approved cover artwork and bonus tracks — including the previously unreleased 26-minutes long suite Inception. Lift was formed in mid-1972 in New Orleans and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1975 where they weathered on until the group splintered in 1979. RIYL: Mirthrandir, PRE, Easter Island, Cathedral, ELP, Victor Peraino’s Kingdom Come. SIDE BAR: First officially issued in 1990 on CD by Greg Walker on his Syn-Phonic label with the title Caverns Of Your Brain and reissued in 2001 with four bonus tracks also on Syn-Phonic under the title The Moment Of Hearing.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.

These items are placed inside of a clear poly outer sleeve upon their receipt by me

MIX: This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.
