LIGHTHOUSE ALL-STARS VOL.2 10-INCH RED VINYL FIRST PRESSING SIGNED BY 6 AND VERY RARE!

One of a kind!  This 10-inch album pressed on RED WAX was originally owned by famous jazz DJ Al "Jazzbo" Collins.  Upon moving back to New York after a brief stay in LA, he had the September 1953 Lighthouse All-Stars sign the back of his album, the one that's now up for auction.  Wishing "Jazzbo" luck before signing their names in black marker are Max Roach, Bud Shank, Bob Cooper, Claude Williamson, Rolf Ericson and Howard Rumsey (who spells "you're" wrong).  This thick vinyl pressing from 1953 is in VG++ condition with a VG+ cover (slight wear).  Cash registers ringing, background chatter, ice rattling around in glasses, laughter--you'll feel like you're right there in the Lighthouse (oh yeah, there's superb "cool" jazz to enjoy, too!)  Your won't find another copy like this one, I guarantee it!

Please note that as the personel of the Lighthouse All-Stars changed a bit from May 1953 (when this album was recorded live at the Lighthouse) to September 1953 (when the All-Stars autographed the back of the album), some of the musicians who signed the back cover don't play on this album. The personel on this album is Rumsey, Cooper, tenor saxophonist Jimmy Giuffre, trombonist Milt Bernhart, Russ Freeman on piano, trumpeter Shorty Rogers ("Name Withheld" on the cover but it's Shorty) and Shelly Manne on drums.  This is a superb, relaxed set of West Coast Jazz, one that I hate like hell to sell, but I need money for gas, off all things!  Oh, and a car, too.  That is, If I had a car, I would need money for gas and...well, never mind!  The tunes are Luau, Coming Through the Rye Bread, Taking a Chance on Love, The Big Top, The Duke You Say!, and Sunset Eyes.
