On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Sam 'Lightnin' Hopkins called "The Rooster Crowed In England" and is an ORIGINAL UK 1959 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 77 Records label!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS EASILY SAM 'LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS RAREST LP EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  THIS RECORD IS ALSO INCREDIBLY COLLECTABLE FOR MANY MANY REASONS!!!!  FIRSTLY IT IS 1ST PRESSED ON THE EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER '77 RECORDS' RECORD LABEL!!!!  '77 RECORDS' WAS SET UP IN THE LATE 1950s BY DOUG DOBELL.  HE RAN THE FAMOUS 'DOBELL'S JAZZ RECORD SHOP' AT 77 CHARING CROSS, LONDON (Hence the name of the label!).  '77 RECORDS' TENDED TO SPECIALISE IN BLUES, FOLK AND JAZZ - AND THIS PARTICULAR LP WAS ONE THE EARLIEST LPs EVER RELEASED ON THE '77 RECORDS' LABEL!!!!  AND - AS WITH MANY OF THE VERY 'EARLIEST' RELEASES ON THE '77 RECORDS' LABEL - THIS LP WAS GIVEN A VERY LIMITED RELEASE.  OFFICIALLY, ONLY 99 COPIES WERE EVER PRESSED - AND THIS LP SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  HOWEVER - I MUST CORRECT 2 VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT THIS LP!!!!  FIRSTLY - MANY RECORD GUIDES HAVE THIS LP INCORRECTLY LISTED AS BEING RELEASED IN 1962 (IT WAS NOT!) - WHEN ACTUALLY THIS WAS LIGHTNIN HOPKINS FIRST EVER UK LP AND WAS ACTUALLY 1ST RELEASED IN 1959!!!!  AND SECONDLY MANY RECORD GUIDES QUOTE THIS LP AS HAVING '99 COPIES ONLY' EVER MADE!!!!  HOWEVER THIS IS ACTUALLY BENDING THE TRUTH A LITTLE!!!!  OF COURSE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL THAT THIS LP WAS ONLY EVER PRESSED IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS - AND 'OFFICIALLY' THIS LP DID ONLY HAVE '99 COPIES PRESSED'.  HOWEVER IN REALITY THE AMOUNT MADE WAS MORE LIKE 200/300 - THOUGH OF COURSE THIS IS STILL AN INCREDIBLY SMALL NUMBER!!!!  NOW OF COURSE, THIS STILL MAKES THIS LP IMPOSSIBLY RARE - AS JUST HOW MANY OF THE 200/300 1ST PRESSED BACK IN 1959 SURVIVE TODAY?  THE ANSWER IS - VIRTUALLY NONE!!!!  AND OF COURSE, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBTING THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST UK BLUES LPS EVER RELEASED!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!   NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1959 UK MONO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS '77 RECORDS' LABEL, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS FULLY LAMINATED FLIPBACK COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL 77 Records UK 1st Pressing from 1959 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is 77 LA 12-1 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press '77 Records' label (see picture) and is a UK MONO 1st Pressing!!!!

The record labels are in AWESOME condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT visual condition with the playing grade only slightly less!!!!  Most of these 50s/60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 3 or 4 MEGA light hairlines, only 3 or 4 ULTRA light scufflines, only 1 TINY surface mark, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  It is also great to find that the playing of the record is almost as STUNNING as the visual!!!!  It plays with NO pops, a few light clicks from the TINY surface mark (these do NOT last long AT ALL!), NO jumps, NO sticks, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  There is however some slight background sound throughout the record - perhaps due to the early rudementary pressing of this LP, or indeed the recordings themselves.  The actual sound quality itself is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!  The record must visually grade Very Good+ if not better - with the playing grade slightly less than this.  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is in SUPERB condition!!!!  The 1st Press FULLY Laminated Flipback Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!!  Even the laminated back is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO ringwear, barely ANY yellowing, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
