This session was organized by Alan Lomax. Perhaps the only studio records of these four blues masters performing together! They all sing & play guitar, except Sonny McGhee, who sings & plays harmonica. The cover photo shows the four in the midst of the session. On the vintage black Deep Groove World Pacific label. Original US mono release. Produced by Richard Bock & Ed Michel. Album closes with "Wimmin From Coast to Coast." Nice thick quality vinyl & sturdy jacket! (Etched matrix: "B-24082/B-24097X A.846").
COVER - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS
Cover has no seam splits, tape, ink spills, cut-out marks, water damage, puncture holes, writing, bubbles or stickers. No ring wear or speckling; slight rubbing. Flat cover with no bends, creases, ripples or bowing. Nearly free of corner banging. Spine is nearly all readable, but has a few tiny chips. Label looks quite nice: free of stains, marks, scuffs, cuts & writing. Sharp-cut hole with some faint transparent spindle brushings.
DISC - NEAR MINT
No scratches, skips, streaking, warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. A few brief hairline flecks and some shallow, inaudible pits (one sixteenth of an inch). The disc still exudes a nice surface sheen. Free of chips, cracks & warping. This thick platter holds its sound better than a cheaper modern pressing.
