Sheffield Labs catalog #S9, this is one of, if not THE first, direct to master disc title ever recorded. No tape recorder was used as the musicians had to perform each side of the album in its entirety while the disc was being cut. One mistake and they had to start all over. No overdubs or "sweetening" after the fact. The players had to lay down five perfect tracks in succession TWICE. The grandaddy of audiophile LP's, if you will, it started the whole vinyl-phile pressing movement of the early 70's. The selections are pop, folk and jazz numbers from, primarily, the 60's including two Lennon-McCartney songs. The fidelity is unbelievable being that no tape was used to add a layer of distortion. It will test the limits of your hifi system. The vinyl is near mint and the labels show zero spindle marks. In short, it looks unplayed. The jacket is close to NM but I can see just the faintest of scuffs on the front cover. Other than that, no ring wear, no labels, no writing or marks of any kind. If you've ever wanted a pristine copy of this LP, you won't do better than this short of a sealed one.
