Description

LINCOLN MAYORGA "THE MISSING LINC, Vol. 2" 1972 U.S. Sheffield Lab direct to disc gatefold LP. Stereo S-10. M-/M.

This was the second of a series of direct to disc recordings made by keyboardist Lincoln Mayorga in the early 1970s. The audiophile quality of this record is impeccable & the Sheffield Lab records were often used to test out high-end stereo equipment. No overdubs, as stated on the cover it was "Recorded live from the studio directly to the master disc" at L.A.s Mastering Lab on a Scully-Neumann lathe & cutting system. Lincoln played all pianos & keyboards on this instrumental LP & was helped out by some of L.A.s top session players such as Jerry Scheff on bass, Jim Keltner on drums & Plas Johnson on tenor & alto saxophones. Produced by Doug Sax & Lincoln Mayorga. This record does not need an expensive sound system to sound fantastic today!

13 tracks- Chopin: Prelude In C Major, Limehouse Blues, I Never Loved A Woman, Both Sides Now, Chopin: Prelude In E Major, Brasil '57, The April Fools, Norwegian Wood, We've Only Just Begun, Peace Train, If, Blackbird & Love Rach.

Gatefold cover is intact & retains its original sheen with no fading, writing, tears or split seams. Only minor wear on the left front cover & light corner wear along the bottom detracts it from a MINT grading. Record sounds great with no scratches or scuffs, vinyl looks brand new. Very few spins on this disc- rated MINT. The light blue stereo Sheffield Lab labels look great & indicate that it is an original pressing from 1972. No UPC.
