Description

Linda Mason     Sings Bob Dylan: How Many Seas Must a White Dove Sail    RIC ST1005

Mason, a Greenwich Village folkie, had to be a super-early adopter of the young, new songwriter-about-town, as these sessions are from 1964 New York. Dylan himself had only been in town for three years! Featuring a pre-Lovin’ Spoonful John Sebastian as well as studio heavies of the time including Walter Raim, Russ Savakus, and Al Gorgoni. Dylan completists will find this a must as its got versions of all his early “hits”, including “The Times They are a-Changin’”, “Blowin in the Wind”, “Masters of War”, “Boots of Spanish Leather”, “Hard Rain”, as well as some more obscure numbers like “Who Killed Davey Moore?” and “Farewell”.

Cover is still in shrink, disc is VG++. This is the only copy I’ve ever seen.

After a hiatus, during which we moved and built our Permanentrecords library/vault/watering hole, we are finally up and running as an Ebay seller again. Welcome back to all our old friends and hello to new ones. We’re going to try things a bit differently this time. We will still feature great, rare, obscure, strange and little-known vinyl, but we’ve decided on no reserves and a very low opening bid on even the choicest stuff. We’re hoping that this will keep you coming back to us for the chance at some genuine bargains and maybe even steals, as we allow each item to find its natural price.  We will of course still try to maintain the same high standards of service and customer satisfaction. Good hunting and keep in mind that we do offer a discount on combined shipping!
