A great copy, excellent, plays clean quiet and musically, the mono mastering is stunning.What a band Hampton at the height of his powers, with Buddy DeFranco clarinet, Oscar Peterson piano, Ray Brown bass, and Buddy Rich drums (you don't even notice that Hamp doesn't play on Paper Moon as the band rocks)
Buddy Rich's kick rocks it, and DeFranco deserves way more attention than he gets.
Disc is high shine and clean labels, would be NM but for a few scuffs and hairlines, nothing really emerges but a slight tick for a few revolutions opening the B side and some 60 year surface (I play test the entire disc). It plays quiet clean and musical throughout.
The sleeve is outstanding it really looks mint just a slight ding in the low back corner, no ring, no splits, no chips, the white is white.
This David Stone Martin Sleeve alone, in this condition, might be worth the price of the disc, but the disc is really great.
Ships in a MOFI archival inner sleeve the rice paper didn't make it.
