Description
Little Anthony And The Imperials - A-side - Tears On My Pillow - B-side - Two People In The World - 10" single - HLH.8704.
A Doo-Wop classic and my personal favourite record of all time. Very rare.
Around 60 rock and roll and doo wop 78s to be listed from many stars including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard, Everly Brothers etc.
Recorded 1958 on London American. Cardboard sleeve included.
Plays well both sides, very good condition. There is a chip on the edge on the b-side (see picture). It does not affect play but you would need to place the stylus on the record carefully. (But then, this record is all about the a-side!). The sleeve is in good condition but is not original.
Grading - These are my records and are over 60 years old. I listen to both sides before listing and try not to overgrade them in order to avoid disappointing a buyer. Unless stated in the description, records this old will have scuffs and scratches and have lost much of their gloss. I am grading them on sound quality. The full image photos tend to flatter the records as it is hard to capture scuffs. Do not expect high quality audio if you use a stylus for 33 or 45 rpm discs. The video above is recorded on a Pioneer DJ PLX-500 turntable fitted with a Audio Technica 430 stylus for 78s. I will take the record back if you are unhappy with the grading but at buyer's postage cost. No record will be listed that jumps or skips.
The most common grades will be:
Excellent - Showing signs of being played but apart from very minor scuffs or scratches, nothing that affects play. Still shiny but without the lustre of a mint record
Very good - Surface will show signs of wear (scuffs or scratches). Surface noise may be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music. Groove wear will start to be noticeable but not intrusive.
Good - Record can be played through without skipping but will have surface noise, scratches, and groove wear.
Postage - This record will be shipped via Hermes with full insurance cover. The record mailer (see last image above) costs £1.28. I can combine up to 3 x 78s in one box with appropriate postage savings. If you want combined shipping PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE to avoid unnecessary Ebay + Paypal charges which I cannot recover once you have paid.
