SYNOPSIS

   

 

Wow!! If you are going to have an Original Master Recording (from Mobil Fidelity Sound Lab) what better group for it to than Little Feat, and what better price to have it for than less that half of book priced. Seems those are two important factors. Little Feat was one of the legendary live bands of the '70s, showered with praise by not only their small, fiercely dedicated cult of fans, but such fellow musicians as Bonnie Raitt, Robert Palmer, and Jimmy Page. Given all that acclaim, it only made sense for the group to cut a live album. Unfortunately, they waited until 1977, when the group had entered its decline, but as the double-album Waiting for Columbus proves, Little Feat in its decline was still pretty great. Certainly, the group is far more inspired on stage than they were in the studio after 1975 - just compare "All That You Dream," "Oh Atlanta," "Old Folks' Boogie," "Time Loves a Hero," and "Mercenary Territory" here to the cuts on The Last Record Album and Time Loves a Hero *

Note: As you can see in the attached picture, the record number for this item is EKL-4007, but in the vinyl run-off it is marked EKS-74007, as is the jacket. I guess with both EKL and EKS on the vinyl may make this an error pressing.

 

                   

PAYMENTS   

    1.  METHOD: PayPal is the required payment method to be used for payment. It results in a much more expedited and efficient transaction for both the buyer and the seller     2. TIMELINE: Payment is requested by the FOURTH day following the completion of the auction "UNLESS",  you are planning on bidding on additional items that are  coming up for bid or your schedule does not permit. Either way, please just notify me and make sure that I am aware.                    

SHIPPING & HANDLING FEES DISCLOSURE

    1. Domestic Shipping & Handling Fees ($1.15) will consist of  the actual cost of the protective packaging materials (i.e. custom LP mailers & protective poly jacket sleeves) which are not cheap from "Bags Unlimited". This is strictly a cost reimbursement as there is NO PROFIT built into this fees.  These two protective items contribute to the primary objective of a safe arrival to the buyer. These mailers are also required for Priority Mail as the USPS does not make Priority Mail boxes that fit LP's adequately.     2. International Shipping & Handling Fees ($2.75) will consist of  the protective shipping items in bullet #1 in additional to the cost associated for an extra trip to the Post Office to validate postage amounts and the completion of REQUIRED Customs Forms    

POSTAGE 

    3. I use the eBay/USPS Postage Calculator Tool in order to determine postage amounts. This system calculates postage amount based upon destination (West Coast Vs. East Coast, Domestic Vs. International), shipping type (Priority Vs. Media Mail, First Class International Vs. Priority International), weight of item and any applicable shipping & handling (S&H) fees.      4. Postage Type is the decision of the buyer, Domestic shipments normally go out via Media Mail, as it is least expensive,  although some buyers may want a quicker method such as Priority Mail which according to historical info is handled with more care (this is just feedback from buyers, personally I don know). International shipments normally go out via First Class International but can also be sent, per buyer request, through Priority International.      5. Services such as Insurance, Delivery & Signature Confirmation, Express Mail, etc. are always available upon request but are always the financial responsibility of the Buyer (fees vary for these options).      6.International shipments are much more difficult to track than domestic shipments therefore PLEASE be patient in awaiting the merchandise as it could take a month (I've seen it many times). If you did to request (and pay) for International Priority mail and for Insurance, please do not expect me to be responsible for any lost items.    

POSTAGE SAVINGS

    7. Buyers can always save on shipping costs by winning multiple auctions resulting in a combined postage amount. In additional to reducing postage charges for the remaining items purchase it will also result in a reduction of shipping and handling fees as the LP protective mailers can fit up to 5 LP's therefore those costs are not necessary on additional items.                     

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

    Hopefully we create a satisfying transaction where both the buyer and seller are happy at the conclusion of the transaction. He buyer is happy with the shipping and the product and that the seller is happy with payment timelines. I will try to ensure that the buyer gets the best shipping rate, combined shipping opportunity and the quickest shipment possible (i.e.) one day turn). Please keep in mind when awaiting arrival that the postal service may not have the same priority in delivery. I would also ask that if there is a problem that we encounter that you give me the opportunity to resolve so that we can still end up with a satisfying transaction. Additionally, if I take the time to post feedback for you, and if you are happy with the transaction, I would appreciate the return feedback also     1. Providing the best possible postage rates through the combination of purchases.      2. Commit to post applicable feedback to the buyer based solely upon their responsibility of providing timely payment.     3. Giving the buyer expedited service with the one day handling (turnaround) commitment     4. Allowing the buyer a 14 day period for which any objective reasoned purchase can be returned     4.Resolving, to the buyers satisfaction, resolution of any issues that might arise prior to the close of the transaction                    

RETURNS

    1. Subjective Vs. Objective Reasons: As all vinyl collectors are well aware, LP vinyl, and jackets, grading is extremely "SUBJECTIVE" and in the end is simply just one man's opinion. A difference of opinion on a vinyl's, or covers', "PROPER" or "CORRECT" grade is something that any group of collectors may never agree upon therefore this factor will NOT be grounds for a refund. I attempt to describe each piece of vinyl, and every cover's, pluses & minuses as very best that I can ensuring that I mention major flaws, post a good picture and arrive at a fair grade. I am not selling my collection with the intent of taking advantage of anyone, therefore if there is any doubt in my mind (as to the graded condition) I will grade conservatively assigning the lower grade and keep everyone happy. My feedback pretty much supports that philosophy in regards to the accurate grading. On the other hand, if there is an "OBJECTIVE" reason for returning the merchandise that is totally appropriate and I will gladly accept that return. For example, a record that is listed as "Still Sealed" and arrives as an opened item, a record is advertised as a original release and turns out to be a reissue, a record is listed as a US release and turns out to be an import) then these are clearly objective reasons to return, which I will gladly accept.      2. Damaged Merchandise: If merchandise is damaged in transit it will be the buyer's responsibility to address that issue with their local post office. The buyer was the final decision maker on how their merchandise was to be shipped (e.g. Priority,  Media Mail, Etc.) they had the decision on requesting, and purchasing, insurance.                      

GRADING PROCESS

    1. Condition Grading Scale: I use "Goldmine" which is the standard that collectors use to buy and sell. See below for grading definitions and explanations.     2. Visual or Play Graded: Visual, primarily due to time constraints and the volume (thousands) of records that we are dealing with. I use a bright 150W light bulb and I also grade conservatively and doing so for over thirty years. In order to ensure that buyers are happy, All flaws worth noting to potential buyers (scratches, MINOR warps, cut out holes, saw marks, split cover seams, writing, etc.) will be listed in the item descriptions in an attempt to avoid any, and all, surprises.                    

RECORD GRADING SCALE DETAIL

    1. MINT (M):     Sealed. This is the Holy Grail stage of the vinyl which can not be used on an opened item.     2, NEAR MINT (NM OR M-):              A NM record “looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect. They are shiny w/ NO visible defects. There can be NO writing, stickers, markings, etc either on the jacket, label or vinyl. NM records do not have to be "unlayed" as  a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for properly. NM covers are free of creases, ring wear & splits.     3. VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS (VG++):             I do not use this often but do so when an Item appears extremely close to Near Mint (e.g. blemishes and minimal marks exist that are practically unnoticeable to the naked eye). As I grade conservatively, I can not give this a Near Mint even though the flaws might go unnoticed to others so the resultant grade is VG++     4. VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) or EXCELLENT (E):     A VG+ record is “except for a couple minor factors, would be Near Mint.” VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, also. There may be some very faint signs of  ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint.     5. Very Good (VG)             VG records may have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record may have surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise will not overpower the music otherwise. Minor writing, tape or a sticker can detract from the label. Many collectors who have jukeboxes will use VG records in them and not think twice. They remain a fine listening experience, just not the same as if it were in  better shape. VG covers will have many signs of human handling. Ring wear in the middle or along the edges of the cover where the edge of a record would reside, is obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases might be visible. Seam splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won’t be obvious upon looking. Someone might have written or it or stamped a price tag on it, too     Good (G), Good Plus (G+) or Very Good Minus (VG–):          I DO NOT PLAN ON SELLING ANY  "GOOD" OR "VERY GOOD MINUS" RECORDS OR JACKETS unless I have a valuable record (say book value over $100) that some buyer would still appreciated.
