Description
I am selling a mega rare 1960's Texas Garage Band 45 RPM record by LITTLE JOE PARKER and the VIKINGS on the legendary PHARAOH Records label (119) from McAllen, Texas. This has to be one of the rarest Texas Garage Band records around, because I was not able to find a single bit of information about this very talented group on the Internet, on the various Garage Band websites, or on the PHARAOH Records website.
The A side tune is STRAIGHT JACKET, and the B side tune is FEED THE CHICKENS. Both tunes are instrumentals that rock, with a very talented lead guitarist who is featured throughout both killer tunes. I'm guessing that the lead guitarist was Little Joe Parker, but I don't know for sure. The songs remind me of the legendary Blues guitarist Freddy King. This is Garage Band music at it's best, and all you hear is the incredibly talented lead guitarist, the rhythm guitarist, the bass guitar player, and the very talented drummer. It doesn't get much better than this!
This impossible to find record receives a grade of VG++, and you will thoroughly enjoy listening to both songs. There is minimal background noise at the intro and the fade of both songs, but that's about it. I was very tempted to give the sound a grade of NM-, but I would rather grade conservatively and feel comfortable in knowing that the winning bidder will be happy with his purchase. I left the labels alone, but seasoned record collectors know that the ring marks will clean up quite a bit with a gum eraser. The flash of the camera made the ring marks appear darker than they actually are in person, so they should clean up nicely. The graphics, printing, and vivid colors are very crisp and clear.
Additional note: I took the time to clean the labels on this record, and you can see a major improvement in the last two images.
