LITTLE RICHARD- HERE'S LITTLE RICHARD- LP
LONDON RECORDS. HA-O2055. 1957. MATRIX: ACL 624 / 625 1B. 1ST PRESS, FLIPBACK SLEEVE, YELLOW/ORANGE SLEEVE, PLUM LABELS, SILVER TEXT. THE SLEEVE HAS CATALOGUE NUMBER HA-C2055, THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE CATALOGUE NUMBER ON THE LABELS, BUT IS CERTAINLY THE ORIGINAL SLEEVE & VINYL, UNSURE WHY THIS IS THE CASE?
Condition: EX / EX, The sleeve has some light dirt marks, light corner and mouth buffing and some small edge lamination creases, there are a few tiny edge buffs that are adjacent to the edge lamination creases. No tears, bends or overall discolouring, fine flipback edges and a very nice looking sleeve. Hard to find this flimsy 50+ year old sleeve in any better condition.
This comes with its original 'patents pending' inner sleeve which has a little yellowing and creases, no edge splits.
Both plum labels come in fine condition, both labels are clean, looking under a strong light some spindle trails can be seen on each side, one side has little more than a few, the other is certainly not well played but has certainly seen a deck more than a few times. The centre-hole shows little signs of wear. Please check the pics, fine labels.
The vinyl retains its new shine and looks clean, no visible scratches on this, under a strong light numerous ghost marks and feather scratches can be seen.
I have test played this through both sides and found the audio to be superb, as per-usual I had a pen ready to take notes on any surface noise heard. Fact is this has no noteworthy surface noise of any kind. Strong, clear audio which plays with very little lessening in sound quality. The above mentioned ghost marks and feather scratches are completely non-audible. No distortion, fading or dragging of any kind, no background hiss or feckling whatsoever and other than the occasional, very quiet and un-noteworthy crackle sounding fine. Clear breaks and entries and not suffering from much lessening in sound quality due to wear. Taking into account the light surface marks and the fact its been quite well played on one side a grading of excellent is both fair and correct. The audio is probably a little better than graded and closer to near mint than excellent.
A fine collectors item and worthy addition to any collection, if your buying for audio this one is for you, superb.
