I JUST KEEP LOVING HER ORA-NELLE BLUES
This is historically and musically a vital record in the Chicago Blues field. This is Little Walter's first record from the Maxwell Street Record Shop at 831 Maxwell Street, in 1947. LITTLE WALTER  sings on Side A and plays harp on both sides. OTHUM BROWN sings on Side B and plays Guitar on both sides. This is among the finest MAXWELL STREET ERA Chicago blues. The influence of Sonny Boy Williamson was highly evident in Walter's enthusiastic playing.
In the late SIXTIES this record and the Johnny Young 78 could be bought NEW at the shop for $5.00. At the time this was an enormous sum. There was no other distribution.
The Abrahms, who owned the shop, would only sell one or two at a time. Many of these records were cracked, due to the type of shellac used. The store was very dark, hard to see the records. There were tall piles of 78s and shelves of 45's but the owners were very paranoid of their records. It was very difficult to buy from them.
This is an exceedingly RARE record and difficult to find in NEAR MINT condition without a hairline crack. This record has been sitting safely in my collection for many years, and is now for AUCTION.
CONDITION:  E+ An amazing copy.
Standard 78 Grading:
N-   NEW MINUS - Highest grade used. Appears unplayed. Full luster. Slight signs of handling
E+   EXCELLENT PLUS - Full luster remains. Very few careful plays. Slightest indications of use or handling.
E    EXCELLENT - Almost full luster. Mild signs of play,  but no serious wear, scratches or scuffs.
E-  EXCELLENT MINUS - Some luster remains,  but record has some apparent wear, scuffs and / or scratches. Still a pretty nice 78, acceptable to most collectors.
V+  VERY GOOD PLUS - Record has considerable wear, scuff and / or scratches. Still plays pretty well but is clearly a used record. An AVERAGE USED 78 is in the V to V+ range.
V   VERY GOOD - Mostly or fully gray from use. Obvious surface noise but probably still plays pretty well. Scuffing and / or scratches more prominent.
V-  VERY GOOD MINUS - Further deterioration. Fully gray with deeper wear and heavy surface noise.
G   GOOD - Very rough, deeply gray, surface noise about equal to music.
F   FAIR - Really beat 78 that may skip. Surface noise exceeds music.

Shipping Details:  78s require special attention. Deep, oversized boxes are used. The 78s are sandwiched between at least four cardboard filler pads (slats) and packed with styrofoam peanuts and/or bubble wrap for safe arrival. I do not use LP mailers or 10 inch pizza box mailers.
