LIVES OF ANGELS – Elevator to Eden LP on Fire Records from 1986 (Fire LP2)
Lives of Angels formed in the early 1980s with their debut album recorded in 1983 finally being released by Fire records in 1986. The album which was recorded at home on a 4-track by Gerald and Catherine O’Connell is a seldom seen cult classic highly regarded by collectors for it’s unusual and unique sound which mixes minimal synth coldwave with psych influences.

Visually the vinyl is in great condition, with just a few light surface marks visible under a good light. Audibly, the record plays beautifully with nothing more serious than an occasional click or pop to spoil the listening enjoyment, so is graded as a strong Ex. The addition of a promo insert indicates this was a review copy and as a result has come from a collection that is virtually unplayed.
The labels are nice and clean with little evidence of any spindle marking.
The sleeve shows some minor signs of age, a little light creasing / soiling, but it is still in a very collectable Ex condition.
The promo insert is creased and torn where the staple has been removed but is a nice added extra to the package, and confirms the story that this album was recorded in 1983.
Overall I would grade this seldom seen gem as a strong Ex/Ex (vinyl/sleeve).
