Livin’ Blues – Wang Dang Doodle
Wang Dang Doodle is the second album of the Livin’ Blues. On offer is the very rare 1st Dutch pressing of Livin’ Blues – Wang Dang Doodle on the Philips label, cat no. 6413 009 with GATEFOLD COVER from 1970. This is not the more common 2nd pressing with the single cover.
This is a very rare Dutch original pressing of Livin’ Blues’ 2nd album called Wang Dang Doodle with the flimsy laminated gatefold cover. You don’t see this 1st pressing very often and certainly not in this brilliant condition, Most copies have a lot of damage to the fragile gatefold cover, as this cover is made from very thin cardboard.This is a great opportunity to complete your Dutch Beat collection, a real must have for the fans! Superb music!
Condition:
The laminated gatefold sleeve is in EX condition and the record is in EX+ condition, a beautiful copy.
Livin Blues are without doubt the greatest Blues Band to come out of Holland, and to be honest, they deserved greater acclaim. The music is tight, and Nico Christianson's vocals are extremely powerful. Oh, and he is one hell of a Sax player to boot. Ted Oberg (Guitars) is top-drawer also, and really knows how to Boogie. Harp Player John LeGrand really added another dimension to the band too.
From 1967 to 1975 "Livin' Blues" with their blues-boogie-rock and shuffle music was really hot! Hits like Wang Dang Doodle, LB Boogie and Black Liza conquered Holland and the rest of Europe and the band performed with pop giants like Steve Lukather (Toto), Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Desmond Dekker, Canned Heat, Adje van den Berg (White Snake), Thijs van Leer (Focus), Eelco Gelling (Cuby + Blizzards) and many others.
