NOTE: Cook Records are a highly prized label by Collectors because in 1952 they were the first company to produce commercial stereo records, which Emory Cook called "Binaural". At least 60 "Binaural" recordings were known to have been released. Binaural stereo sound was achieved by putting the output from two separate microphones on two independent monaural tracks on the same side of a 12" record. One stylus played the outside track while the other stylus played the inner track simultaneously; the grooves of the first channel formed a single "band" that was concentric with and surrounded a second band that started about halfway into the record and which contained the grooves of the second stereo channel (see 3rd photo for channel separation). The common early stereo records that could play each wall of a single groove as a separate track, known as V-groove stereo LPs, as well as the cartridge that was a standard part of their use, were not released until 1957. Therefore, Cook beat his competitors to issuing stereo LPs by 5 years. While there are many vinyl enthusiasts that collect Cook's Binaural LPs, very few ever get to play them because you need a working Cook Laboratories Binaural Stereo to do so. Often these records are damaged from confused collectors attempting to play the LP on a Hi-Fi with cartridge or on certain modern stereo players. Thankfully, this LP--as well as several more Binaural LPs that I'll be listing in the near future--are still in very fine condition and should play nicely on the correct Cook equipment. However, I do not possess a working binaural player, so I cannot audition them to be certain.  

Vinyl: VG+ condition; glossy binaural vinyl; in very nice condition with only a few minor surface sleeve/handling marks; nothing feel-able; no scratches. It should play cleanly on the proper binaural equipment, but I do not own a working Cook Binaural Stereo with which to audition it.     

Cover: VG colorful, sturdy Jacket; edge-wear; rub-wear; yellowing of back cover; small sticker with a number on front cover and original record store price of "5.95" written in pencil on back (see photos).
