Description

UK bidders only for this auction.

A 12 inch 33 rpm (labels have been hand corrected from 78 rpm) double sided acetate record, with London Weekend Television labels, in a 'Associated Rediffusion Limited (Sound Section)' sleeve.

It contains 5 tracks from unidentified artists. I have only played it once, many years ago, but from a note I made at the time, the first track is a female vocalist singing Streets of London, the second is an unknown (to me) instrumental, the third track is a male vocalist singing the folk song, Maggie Mae, the fourth track is an unknown (to me) instrumental & the fifth track is a female vocalist singing Who's Sorry Now. I think one or two of the tracks had vocal idents at the start, such as 'Take 1'. The female singer sounded vaguely familiar, but I was unsure who she was.

I would guess this dates from the late sixties or early seventies and the tracks will have been recorded for a TV show. Possibly from a lost TV show? Or perhaps an unused performance from an existing show? An unusual one off item.

Very collectable!
