LONELY BOY BY PAUL ANKA CHARTED #1 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 40 IN JUNE OF 1959.
By mid 1959, 78s were no longer pressed in the USA and 78s were becoming rare. They were still being pressed in Canada, but not for much longer. Lonely Boy is one of those late pressings that found its way into use. It plays loud and strong with no skips or clicks, but it's not a beauty queen - GRADES V-. Fair number of light scratches. If this was a 1957 record, I might hold out for a better copy, but a June1959 record that charted #1 in excellent condition is going to be near impossible to find.
I have a lot of 78 rpm Reproduction Records (from incomplete reproduction sets) that I am selling individually. Also, five complete Reproduction sets, and several custom acetates (Pretty Woman is one) along with a few original acetate 78s (including a Pasty Cline).
