We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Fans of British Psych from the 1960s probably know The Factory from “Path Through The Forest”, which featured on the absolutely essential Nuggets II box-set. It's taken on its own it’s an impressive example of the edgy music that was pouring out of the British underground in the wake of acts like Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things…etc.
The trio (and a rather young one at that, with two members still in their teens) only put out three singles – all of which were either covers or the work of outside writers – before calling it a day. Given the scarcity of material it’s not surprising that this retrospective runs with just seven songs clocking in at twenty-four minutes – and includes a second “alternate” version of “Path Through The Forest” with additional overdubbed effects. The music is surprisingly strong.
The band particularly smokes on catchy covers of Paul Revere and The Raiders’ “Gone” and Fairport Convention’s “Mr. Lacey”, which are both done in a Yardbirds rave-up style (check out the wild guitar feedback during the solo on the latter). They also add some nice falsetto vocals to the psychedelic “Try A Little Sunshine”, a song written by one of their studio engineers. While you wouldn’t make the case that these guys were forgotten geniuses, if you’re the kind of person who has Pretty Things, Small Faces and Action records in their collection, then The Factory are worth your time
