Long long gone dOUBLE LP that pretty much amounted to a RAW & ALIVE sledgehammer from the master of the electric guitar. Some of the songs appear as being played in slow motion, for instance the versions of "Red House", "Are You Experienced" or "Bleeding Heart", so you can grasp at every single detail. The whole thing is absolutely intense. There is definitely not a single bad track on this recording, which has been assembled from various concert appearances via direct hookup to the mixing board, meaning brilliant, if not consistently roooaring sound quality!  The studio seemed to translate the ultimate place to hear Hendrix's Experience, but these live recordings are all too often heart-stopping when not restrained by studio perfection and void of overdubs. Nice drawn out acid freakouts and blues jams by the magic fingers master, and his raw sonic attack.

At one point Jimi pauses and advises: "Fuck off - let me talk! If you didn't bring any blues with you we'll make sure to make some for you to bring home with!", And then he starts playing the most heartbreaking, soul drilling and divine version of "Red House" that you may ever hear. Not to sound sentimental, but you are pretty damn sure to get the blues when listening to this album and Red House in particular!
In total, this is pure lunacy. Everyone who likes Hendrix should listen to this record. It goes far ahead of his regular studio recordings.
