FIRST TIME on record for future Eurythmics main man Dave Stewart. Longdancer were a Sunderland based progressive folk rock four piece that also included Kai Olsson the brother of Elton John drummer Nigel Olsson. It will come as no surprise then to learn that the band were signed to an embrionic Rocket Records, Elton's boutique label.
This, their debut album, contains superbly written and executed early seventies progressive folk rock produced by Steelye Span producer Sandy Roberton. If you like the sounds of McGuniness Flint, Heron, Horslips and teh Strawbs.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Rocket, UK, 1973
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. A couple of virtually invisible spindle marks on labels but no other signs of any use. Grades as near shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Only light signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed textured gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and totally uncrushed. Just some sun bleaching to spine side of cover back and front. Grades as Ex
