Description
Another Night to Cry, a high fidelity, long playing microgroove album, features Lonnie Johnson performing solo on guitar and vocals. All of the songs were written by him specifically for this album. Johnson, who played in countless recording sessions beginning in the 1920s, was known for his instrumental work and made significant contributions to the development of the guitar as a solo jazz instrument. Equally acclaimed were his arresting blues compositions and remarkable singing, both captured on this album.
The record is in excellent condition. The sleeve is cleanly split on three sides, so I've labeled it fair; otherwise is otherwise in good condition.
Released in 1962 by Prestige Bluesville (BLV 1062), it was produced by Kenneth L. Goldstein and recorded by Mel Kaiser. The design and photo are by Don Schlitten, and Pete Welding wrote the liner notes. All songs are Copyright L.Johnson-Prestige Music, BMI. The album was printed in the U.S.
The run-off is stamped Rudy Van Gelder, indicating that he was the engineer.
