a few moments of occasional surface noise, judged to be not detracting from enjoyment of the music.
(The numerical grade assigned to the record condition could be 9.8 or 7.2, depending on the individual description)
JACKETS are similarly graded with 1 grade from 10 for the best, to 7 for the average.
