ONE OF the great hot bands from Kansas City, ANDY KIRK AND HIS TWELVE CLOUDS OF JOY do not disappoint on these two high-powered, stomping, splendid, blazing hot, solo-studded performances from 1930:
"LOOSE ANKLES" and "I LOST MY GAL FROM MEMPHIS"
The personnel of this astounding group: GENE PRINCE, HARRY LAWSON, trumpets / ALLEN DURHAM, trombone / JOHN HARRINGTON, JOHN WILLIAMS, LAWRENCE FREEMAN, saxes / CLAUDE WILLIAMS, violin / MARY LOU WILLIAMS, piano - arranger / WILLIAM DIRVIN, banjo / EDWARD McNEIL, drums / BILLY MASSEY vocals.
This original 1930 Brunswick 4803 is in clean, fine-sounding EE- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care.
