IN CASE ANY OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN BIDDING IN MY RECENT REGGAE LP AUCTIONS HAVE AN INTEREST IN OTHER CARRIBEAN MUSIC, I HAVE DECIDED TO OFFER SOME VARIOUS CALYPSO, STEEL DRUM, AND AFRICAN MUSIC LPS FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. This is an original 1962 Jamaica press RCA Victor label LP titled 'Come-Come-Come To Jamaica', featuring twelve tracks from Jamaican mento, calypso, and ska pioneer Lord Tanamo And His Calypsonians, recorded prior to his days as lead singer of The Skatalites. It is RCA Victor Jamaica Records catalog number CRC 1001. See the accompanying images for more information, please e-mail me if you need matrix numbers. No personnel are listed on the album cover or the record labels. Tracks: Come Come Come To Jamaica, Murder In The Place, Slide Mongoose, Solas Market, Give Me Back Me Shilling, Brown Skin Gal, Linstead Market, Night Cricket, Jean And Dinah, Bed Bug, Japanese Invasion, Weel An Tun Me. Visual condition of record is a mid VG+ with some surface marks and surface scuffs which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Record plays though nicely with some surface noise. Labels have the name of a previous owner written in blue ballpoint, no other real problems. Condition of cover is VG -- It appears that the front and back cover slicks were very carelessly glued on top of a U.S. Perry Como LP cover by RCA in Jamaica, RCA apparently constructed this cover very cheaply. The front cover slick has a small tear, some wrinkles, and some wear along the edges, some of which appears to be adhesive residue from previously removed clear tape. There is also a price stamped on the front cover, all of these flaws can be seen in the accompanying image. The back cover slick is only partially glued to the old Perry Como album cover, and parts of the back cover slick are torn away and missing, exposing parts of the original Perry Como back cover. Bottom edge of the cover has a 3" split in its right-hand side - I have carefully and neatly repaired this split by taping from the inside. Cover also has some general contact wear and some general wear along the edges and on the corners. A choice vintage addition to any Calypso or Carribean music record collection!
