LOS GUARDABARRANCO (Katina & Salvador Cardenal) - "Un Trago De Hoaizonte"
(private/Ocarina/Enigrac; Stereo; 1982; *Nicaragua issue/pressing). RARE. (**Click on the pictures above for more info - *Double click for larger image**).
**This is an original (not a modern reissue) VG+ vinyl copy, *Nicaraguan issue/pressing, of this private folk rock LP. **This was a very limited pressing, only available locally in Nicaragua.
**NOTE: *Brother and sister Katina and Salvador Cardenal started performing in support of the Sandinista overthrow of the Somosza dictatorship and took the name Los Guardabarranco after the Nicaraguan national bird. *Circa 1984 JACKSON BROWNE was visiting Nicaragua and heard them perform. He immediately arranged to bring them to LA and record under his mentorship with his band in support; 'Si Buscabas' was released in the USA on the Redwood label. With JB's support they began to tour the world.
**NOTE: They refer to their music as 'Volcanto / Nuevo Cancion'. A socially conscious poetic message music about nature, freedom and justice; symbolic of Peace.
**NOTE: The cover is autographed / signed on the front by Katina and Salvador. (see pictures)
**Vinyl is VG+; shiny bright, light surface marks. Side 1, cut 2 has a mark that pops through the whole song.
**Gatefold Cover has some general wear; small piece of scotch tape on the front.
**NOTE: The odd / folded gatefold cover has lyrics printed on the inside; some additional corrections to the lyrics are hand written on the inside. (see pictures)
