Description
This is an original U.S. pressing copy of the rare sole LP by Lost and Found, released in 1968. The record was the third LP to be released on the International Artists label (after the debut LPs by the 13th Floor Elevators and the Red Crayola). From Houston, the group played a mix of folk-rock and psychedelic rock, and owed an obvious debt to the Elevators (notably, they covered the latter's "Don't Fall Down," and incorporated the Elevators' trademark electric jug into another song). A highlight of the record is the extended instrumental with which it closes, "Living Eye" (named for a Houston club per the LP's liner notes). It should be noted that the record's title is far from settled. "Forever Lasting Plastic Words," the title of the LP's first song, appears in the painting on the front cover, and "Everybody’s Here," the title of the LP's second song, is in the back cover graphic. Only the band's name appears on the jacket's spine and the disc labels. I suspect the uncertainty was intentional: were the band to be asked which of the three options was the actual title, they would respond, "Yes." The jacket has a 2½” piece of tape on the top seam, some tearing along the edge on the back cover (see photo), and light ring wear on the back cover (EX). The disc has some hairline scratches and scrapes, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and plays with light surface noise, and some crackling and mostly light popping (VG+). For those into the minutiae, the disc's runout matrix #s are as follows: IAS LP-3 RE-1 Side 1 1A (side 1); IAS LP-3 SIDE 2 1-A.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
