Description
For auction is LOU DONALDSON's "Alligator Bogaloo," on Blue Note BLP 4263, MONO, 1967.
SOUND: NM (or better)
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. It sounds amazing! To be cautious, I'm not saying "perfect," but I couldn't hear any flaws, period.
VINYL: NM (or better)
Visually, the vinyl looks brand new! This record was in it's original paper sleeve, which was folded tight on one corner. Paper sleeve is unwrinkled, crisp, unmarked, and is bright white under the portion which was folded over, as opposed to yellow/aging everywhere else (see pics). I can't help but wonder if the record was ever out of the sleeve, or maybe just once? Under a bright light, the vinyl looks brand new! The record is on blue/white Blue Note labels, the dead wax is stamped "Van Gelder" as well as "Blue Note" on both sides. Deep-grooves on both sides as well. Runouts are etched: "BNLP.4263.A" / "BNLP.4263.B."
COVER: VG+ or better
The cover is very nice. The edges are solid. The corners are pretty sharp, but have a tiny bit of denting or fraying. The front is very clean and unmarked, with very minor ring-wear. The back has a "DJ" stamp, otherwise unmarked and very clean.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
This is the finest condition vinyl I have auctioned! No reserve, bidding starts at $20.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
