Description
Lovely copy of the rare original 1970 first pressing of Lou Donaldson’s Everything I Play is Funky LP on Blue Note BST-84337. Original blue and white Liberty labels and Rudy Van Gelder’s stamp on both runoffs. Classic groove/soul jazz featuring the great Melvin Sparks on guitar, as well as Idris Muhammad on drums, Blue Mitchell on trumpet and Lonnie Smith on organ. The disc has a few superficial marks and light scuffs but really it plays near flawlessly and just beautifully. It is mostly quite clean and beautiful but there are a few scuffs that really are superficial and don’t make any sound at all. Not even any crackle between tracks. There are only a couple of stray ticks to be heard, but barely any at all. Truly a lovely copy. The cover has light signs of use as well, with very faint ringwear and very slight edge and corner wear, but really quite clean and striking. This is a beautiful original copy, very hard to top.
