LOU REED '73 Air Force INTERVIEW LP /LOTS OF VELVET UNDERGROUND, ANDY WARHOL
SEE OUR OTHER RARE RECORDS AND MUSIC MEMORABILIA
Here's a very rare 1973 interview album issued by the US Air Force, with one side a fascinating Lou Reed interview and the other an interview with Earth, Wind & Fire. The Lou interview (with legendary dj Frankie Crocker) is to promote TRANSFORMER, and he talks a lot about the Velvet Underground and Andy Warhol. Lou talks about how this album is the summation of everything he's done musically, that Warhol told him he should write a song titled "Vicious", with the lyric "I hit you with a flower" for a lyric; and talks about Warhol's and his own influence and that of the Velvet Underground; his effect on music and how the Velvets made him a "folk hero" yet Lou gets tired of listening to his VU music; how the Velvets "really didn't know what we were doing" nor the record company, who "didn't like their music", how radio stations didn't play them and banned the commercials for the first VU album; the difference in audiences in the Velvets era and "now" (ie as a solo artist); FM Radio, why he loves New York City and how it's his favorite place in the world; that he's a "movie person" and would like to do music for movies; and how he loves to gossip. The songs SATELLITE OF LOVE, WAGON WHEEL and PERFECT DAY are played. The Lou side grades EX; the Earth Wind and Fire side is VG+. This is the only copy we've ever seen of this rarity. We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound.
We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren’t happy with—no questions asked.

We welcome International buyers and ship around the world every week.
US & Canada Shipping: $9 for 1-2 LP's by insured Priority Mail (Ebay’s recent rule change requires us to offer Media Mail shipping for records, at $4.00 for 1 LP. As this is a very slow method of shipping and uninsured, we cannot guarantee safe delivery by this method and strongly recommend paying extra for the much quicker and safer Priority Mail.) $15 for 1-2 posters, shipped priority mail in a new mailer/tube & US orders are automatically insured for up to $200 in value. Calif. buyers add 8.75% sales tax (calculated automatically by Paypal.) All other items shipped at cost.
International Shipping: $16 for 1 LP airmail. $4 for each additional LP; $21 for 1-2 posters. Registered mail is an additional $11, and airmail express to most countries is $38. All other items shipped at cost. Because of issues with the Italian, Russian, Ukrane and Georgian Post Office, we highly recommend either express or registered mail for all Italian orders and cannot be responsible for any order shipped to these countries without express or registered shipping.
