COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL LYRIC INSERT (RS 1002) PRINTED ON BOTH SIDES OF TEXTURED PAPER
AND THE ORIGINAL POLY-LINED INNER SLEEVE WITH BRITISH PATENT NUMBER AND "MADE IN ENGLAND" PRINTED IN BLUE
Transformer and "Walk on the Wild Side" were both major hits in 1972, to the surprise of both Lou Reed and the music industry, and with Reed suddenly a hot commodity, he used his newly won status to make the most ambitious album of his career, Berlin.
Berlin was the musical equivalent of a drug-addled kid set loose in a candy store; the album's songs, which form a loose story line about a doomed romance between two chemically fuelled bohemians, was fleshed out with a huge production and arrangements loaded with guitars, keyboards, horns and strings (the session band included Jack Bruce, Steve Winwood, Aynsley Dunbar, and Tony Levin).
Lou's vocals are both precise and impassioned - "How Do You Think It Feels," "Oh, Jim," "The Kids," and "Sad Song" are both powerful and bitter - one incredibly impressive LP

Clean, unmarked labels - no spindle traces evident (but spindle traces do not readily show on these smooth labels)

Both surface shine like new with nothing but a few harmless light wispy hairlines visible under bright light
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
As this copy has seen little/no use my play-check at volume found practically nothing to fault - just a touch of low-level background between some of the tracks and an isolated tick - nothing really - exceptionally clean sound - beautiful copy which I did not clean as it looks so immaculate, so with a clean/few spins it will no doubt sound even better
