LOU REED New York SIRE 9 25829-1 LP SEALED
New York is Lou Reed's greatest album. He had grown tremendously as an artist by the time he released this album in 1989. It was also pure Lou Reed, not the Lou Reed who was influenced by and diminished by his work with David Bowie. All of the vocals and musicianship on New York is brisk, disciplined, and tight. The tone and playing styles are as gritty and real as the New York City street life Reed writes and sings about so eloquently. Reed makes a very powerful statement in each song while entertaining with some seriously good rock and roll music.
This was part of the collection of a friend that I am helping to downsize. We want to find good homes for these special albums with music lovers who will appreciate their qualities.
