ITEM DESCRIPTION:

All this weeks auctions came from the same source, a former Radio DJ. I'm not sure who as they came via another collector who couldn't remember the details, although one has a former Radio One DJs name on the sleeve. They are all either white label Test Pressings or Acetates. 

LOU REED / VELVET UNDERGROUND Mega Rare 12" ACETATE !!

Presumably just a handful of these about....if that ..maybe just this one?

I'm pleased to be able to offer up this Lou Reed / Velvet Underground ACETATE for Lou's 1978 Street Hassle 12" backed with the seminal Velvets tracks "Waiting For My Man" & "Venus in Furs".

The sleeve is a card white one with handwritten track details and timings listed. This is repeated on the record labels. See pictures. The heavy metal acetate disc has nothing etched into the run-out, and the two Velvet Underground performances are credited to Lou Reed rather than the band but they are definitely the Velvets original versions as on the issued 12".

 Condition is EXCELLENT, the occassional light paper scuff under bulb but for an acetate this is in exceptional condition and plays pretty much perfectly.

Needless to say it maybe a long time before another of these surfaces if ever.

Grading is by UK Record Collector magazine standards with an additional + where needed for inbetween grade items. Please note we DO NOT USE MINT grade, as used items very seldom are Mint. Therefore our grading system is as follows:

NM/EX+ Looks almost perfect, perhaps unplayed or played a just a handful or times 

EX Great Clean Copy with possibly very light mark or two not affecting play at all

VG+ Some noticeable minor marks but should play really well

VG Obviously well played with some light scratches / marks but should be a decent listen with no overiding noise - should be ok for home listening or DJing but not a mint looking copy for sure.

G Very well used, probably looks worn / marked, plays with possibly some distorton / crackle / clicks but still listenable and absolutely no jumps or skips

We won't bother to list any items Graded As Fair or Poor therefore all of our records should play without jumps - if you are unfortunate enough to get a record that does jump please return for a full refund.

Remember grading is sometimes done visually and occasionally records don't sound as good as they look so we can get it wrong sometimes. We have a simple rule regarding returns - if you are not happy send it back for a full refund!
